Applied AI, agentic workflows, and secure delivery
A software engineer who designs, ships, and secures web, mobile,
and SaaS products end to end. He works across the modern AI
toolchain every day (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Codex, Cursor,
and custom multi-agent setups) to move fast without giving up
quality, testing, or security.
-
Runs a customised multi-agent setup with a library of skills
he's authored, so the agents produce maintainable, well-tested,
well-documented code instead of work that merely looks right,
and rolls these tools out across his team. Generate-and-verify,
running in production.
-
Leads his team's response to supply-chain attacks and disclosed
vulnerabilities: proactive package monitoring, patching
exposure before it's flagged, and the policy to stay ahead of
it.
-
Advises on AI governance: how a team adopts AI coding tools
safely, with human-in-the-loop checkpoints, scope boundaries,
and clear review practices. "Humans in control" is his daily
practice, not a tagline.
-
Routinely compresses months of work into days with well-tuned
AI-assisted workflows while expanding test coverage.
The productivity case and the quality case at once.
-
British Computer Society Professional Member (MBCS), with a
Business Informatics background and an MSc in Computer Science
in progress.

Why it matters for you: "verified workflow" and
"automate safely" are things Patrick builds and governs every
day. When we set them up for your team, we're teaching what we
already run.

Measurement, evaluation, and the science of verification
A behavioural scientist and published psychometrician with a
decade spent designing rigorous empirical research: randomised
controlled trials, field studies, and large-scale measurement
development across education, child development, and social
programmes in the UK, South Africa, and beyond.
-
Builds and validates measurement instruments using the field's
core methods (Item Response Theory, Rasch analysis,
Differential Item Functioning, and Structural Equation
Modelling), alongside rubric design, calibration, and
inter-rater reliability.
-
Appointed to two South African national expert committees, on
assessment standards and on mathematics and science education,
on the strength of that psychometric expertise.
-
Led organisation-wide measurement and rubric frameworks as a
consultant, including work for the International Olympic
Committee, and now leads evaluation across the
widening-participation programmes funded through Sheffield
Hallam University.
-
Peer-reviewed publications in measurement and early-learning
assessment.
-
Now studying for an MSc in Computer Science with Artificial
Intelligence at the University of York, researching how AI
affects human reasoning, metacognition, and durable skill. The
cognitive-offloading risk our method is built to counter.

Why it matters for you: when we say we measure
reviewing capability and check output against independent
references, that isn't marketing language. Validation and
measurement are Matthew's profession.
